Being a police officer is such a unbelievable civic commitment on so many levels. There are risk factors, there are selfless commitments, there are every life traumatic experiences that most people will never have to deal with and that’s why these individuals take on this responsibility. The thought that every man or woman within this profession is superhuman because they wear a badge is completely unrealistic based on what they need to deal with as humans. We expect so much of these individuals, at times people need to think about what they go home with, what they bring home and what they have to move through life with. We want to do a little bit to help them create some type of consistent peace and outlet through other channels, besides what they do every single day and this program will hopefully create layer of support when needed
Working with community programs and local businesses to help with resources.
Undoubtedly, police officers have difficult and stressful jobs. They’re often faced with violence, conflict and potentially dangerous situations, which can take its toll on their mental and physical health. In fact, data shows that police work ranks among the five most stressful occupations in the United States.
